THOMAS | COSTA RICA

The Thomas family has served as missionaries in Costa Rica since 1997. They partnered with the Abraham Project, located in a marginal community on the outskirts of San José. It is a community where drugs, gangs and prostitution run rampant.

On April 1, 2004, they established homes for children who were considered “at risk” due to neglect and abandonment. They formed a nationally recognized NGO (non-governmental organization) that operated with quality and excellence. Over the years, they have served 104 children to whom they have had the privilege of ministering to physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Through adoption, the children can be found all over the world – Italy, Spain, Germany, Costa Rica, and the United States; while other children have returned to their biological family members.

In 2018, through a series of events, they felt the Lord changing the direction of their ministry to include single mothers (18 – 25 yrs. old) and their children. By meeting their physical, spiritual and educational needs, they hope to restore, rebuild, and transform their lives and help reduce barriers to self-sufficiency. They are excited to expand their vision to working with single mothers who find themselves at risk. This ministry will impact these families in a greater way, as they teach and train the mothers to care for themselves and their children. In effect, influencing two generations and breaking generational curses.
